Weekly Crime Report, Pedestrian Accident and CoronaVirus Information

 Fatal Traffic Collision, 24200 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance (Crossroads) Wednesday, February 26, 2020, 8 p.m.
 
  Torrance Police Officers responded to the 24200 block of Crenshaw Boulevard regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation reveals the driver of a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling north on Crenshaw Boulevard. While traveling north on Crenshaw Boulevard, the Jeep Cherokee struck a pedestrian walking east across Crenshaw Boulevard. The unidentified pedestrian was treated by Torrance Fire Department personnel but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, a 55-year-old male resident of Torrance, was not injured. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
None reported in Torrance
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 10 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
3 in North Torrance, 2 in Old Torrance, 2 at Del Amo Mall, 1 in Hollywood Riviera,
1 in Walteria and 1 in Torrance Heights.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 4 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 15 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 catalytic converters were stolen in Old Torrance, 1 in Seaside and 1 in Walteria.
Delivered parcels were stolen in the 3400 Block of Maricopa St and 2800 Block of
Plaza del Amo.  Gasoline was siphoned out of a vehicle in the 2500 Block of 237th Street
and diesel fuel was siphoned out of a truck in the 2300 Block of Abalone Ave.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
