48-Unit Town Home Development Proposed in North Torrance on 182nd Street

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD BEFORE THE CITY OF TORRANCE PLANNING COMMISSION AT 7:00 P.M., FEBRUARY 19, 2020 IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL, 3031 TORRANCE BOULEVARD, TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA, ON THE FOLLOWING MATTERS:
CUP19-00031, CUP19-00032, WAV20-00002, DIV19-00010, ZON19-00002: Petition of STORM PROPERTIES (CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH) for approval of Conditional Use Permit to allow a 48-unit townhome development that involves new construction of multiple ownership residential structures, buildings that are more than two stories in height, and development that exceeds a 0.6 to 1.0 Floor Area Ratio, in conjunction with a Conditional Use Permit to allow an existing church use, a Waiver of the building height limit for an existing church sanctuary, a Tentative Tract Map for merger and re-subdivision purposes, and a Zone Change from the A1/R2 Zone (Light Agricultural District / Two Family Residential District) to the R-3 Zone (Limited Multiple Family Residential District), on property located in the A1/R2 Zone at 2706 182nd Street.  The Zone Change is considered previously assessed under the General Plan EIR (SCH# 2008111046).  The proposed development is Categorically Exempt from CEQA per Guidelines Sections 15301 – Existing Facilities, 15305 – Minor Alterations in Land Use Limitations, and 15332 – In-fill Development.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles for entry. Items stolen included a wallet, speaker, cash, sunglasses, a key, backpacks, clothes, tablet
