Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance

This report is for Sunday, September 15, 2013 through Saturday, September 21, 2013   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 8 residential burglaries in Torrance and 3 in Southeast Torrance.  There were no residential burglaries in Lomita. 1900 Block 235th St (Walnut)    Thursday, September 19th    6:25 AM to 2 PM Screen removed, window forced open with cash, laptop, cell phone and pillow cases taken. 1900 Block 237th St (Walnut)    Thursday, September 19th    2:50 PM to 6 PM Residence entered by unknown means with duffel, laptop, MP3, electronic scales, wallets and cologne taken. 2400 Block 234th St ( Pennsylvania)   Friday, September 20th, 6:30 PM to 10 PM Screen removed, open window used for entry but suspect flees without taking any property when detected by victim inside the residence.

Power Outage in Southeast Torrance and beyond

September 7th and 8th Road Construction at Crenshaw Blvd and Lomita Blvd

On Saturday Sept. 7 at 7PM , the cities of Torrance and Lomita will begin pavement repairs in the Crenshaw Blvd/Lomita Blvd intersection.   Work will continue overnight into Sunday until approximately 6PM.     The work requires a closure of eastbound and westbound Lomita Blvd at Crenshaw Blvd.  Multiple travel and turn lanes on Crenshaw Blvd will be closed. Travel delays are expected.  Traffic impacts are as follows:   Crenshaw Blvd (both directions): Will be reduced to 1 travel lane in each direction.  Left and right turn lanes will be closed and left/right turn movements onto Lomita Blvd will be prohibited. Lomita Blvd (eastbound at intersection): Will be closed to all traffic for the entire duration of work.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Garnier St south to Skypark Dr.  Local access will be provided up to the Crossroads driveway, west of the intersection. Lomita Blvd (westbound at intersection): Will be closed to all traffic for the entire duration of work.

This report is for Sunday, August 25th through Saturday, August 31, 2013 for reported incidents.   R ESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There were 6 residential burglaries in the City of Torrance and one was in Southeast Torrance. Saturday, August 30th   4:36PM  2000 Block 235th Place (Walnut to Cabrillo) Suspect entered unlocked side door to garage and took bicycle. AUTO BURGLARY There were 17 auto burglaries in the City of Torrance and none reported in Southeast Torrance. SIMPLE BATTERY Saturday, August 30th     8:14PM     231st Street and Arlington Avenue Suspect punches victim in the face and causes him to fall to the ground.
