Weekly Crime Report 2/9/2020 to 2/15/2020


This report is for Sunday, February 9, 2020 through Saturday, February 15, 2020.
There were 46 incidents on the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There was 1 in North Torrance.
2/9/2020  4:40 pm to 5:29 pm   2400 Block 181st St
Window smashed for entry and drill, duffel and clothes stolen.
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 10 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
2/12/2020 9 pm to 2/13/2020 6 am  2300 Block Sepulveda Blvd
Unknown means used to enter vehicle.  Tools, radio and wire stolen.
Windows were smashed in 4 vehicles, 3 unknown means of entry,
and 1 each of pried door lock, punched door lock and unlocked vehicle.
Items stolen included third row seat, child car seat, stroller, new garments,
laptop, charger, medical records, registration, subwoofer, backpacks, wallet, laptop,
chargers, notebooks, jewelry, controller, cell phone, cash, bank cards, business cards, and
medications.
There were two auto burglaries in the 3500 Block of Carson St.  1 on 2/11/2020 between 7:49 pm
and 8:42 pm and another on 2/13/2020 between 8 pm and 9:15 pm.  Newly purchased garments
were stolen from the vehicle on 2/13.  This is a heads up if you park in shopping malls.
AUTO THEFT
There were 7 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
THEFT
There were 14 incidents in Torrance and and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
2/10/2020 5 pm to 2/11/2020 11:30 am  Western Ave and Sepulveda Blvd
Wheels and tires removed from parked vehicle.
2 bikes were stolen, wheels and tires stolen from 2 vehicles, 1 catalytic converter stolen in North
Torrance, and a delivered parcel taken off a porch in the 23000 Block of Kent Ave on 2/12/2020 at 5:11 pm.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
