Weekly Crime Log for SE Torrance and Update on Edison Power Outage

This report is for Sunday, August 18, 2013 through Saturday, August 24, 2013 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were nine reported residential burglaries in Torrance during this reporting period.  Three of them were in Southeast Torrance. 1800 Block 238th St (Walnut)  Monday, August 19th, between 8PM and 9PM. Suspect forced open door for entry, ransacked and took safe, jewelry and cash. Possibly three suspects involved. 1900 Block 237th Place (Walnut-Cabrillo)  Tuesday, August 20th, between 10:15AM and Noon. Suspect  removed screen and entered open window for entry into residence.  No details on property stolen. 2200 Block 236th Place (Arlington – Pennsylvania) Tuesday, August 20th, between 4PM and 7PM. Suspect removed screen, pried open window for entry and took laptop, tablet. This report is for the period from Sunday, August 4th through Saturday, August 10, 2013   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES  None reported for this period or the previous week.   However, a residential burglary did occur on Monday night, August 19th, in the 1800 block of 238th Street (Walnut) between 9:30PM to 10:00PM.  The residents returned home while the burglary was in progress.  One suspect ran away from the home and two male suspects drove east on 238th St to Western Avenue.  An undetermined amount of personal property was stolen.   ESHELMAN AVENUE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT AND PAVEMENT RESURFACING PROJECT from Pacific Coast Highway to Lomita Blvd Construction on this project is slated to start on Tuesday, August 27th from 8:00AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday through November 2013. 4,480 feet of 8” water main, 72 water service laterals and meter boxes, 8 fire hydrants, resurfacing the entire width of the street with rubberized asphalt a

    This report is for Sunday, July 21st through Saturday, July 27, 2013   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES – None reported in Southeast Torrance   AUTO BURGLARY – Between Wednesday, July 24th, 10:30AM and Thursday, July 25th, 10:30AM 2400 Block 227th Street (Pennsylvania to Crenshaw) Suspect entered vehicle by unknown means and took Fastrak transponder, CD’s, registration and manual.   VANDALISM – Sunday, July 21st, 8 to 8:30PM 2100 Block 238th St (Cabrillo to Arlington) Suspect scratched victim’s vehicle paint.   ///Note:  There have been 4 instances this week of vehicles being scratched on Walnut St between 235th and 232nd.///
