Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance & Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement

This report is for Sunday, December 6, 2015 through Saturday, December 12, 2015. 60 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during the period.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 6 in Torrance. 3 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance, 1 in the Alta Loma Park area and 1 in Southeast Torrance. Garages were unsecured in 2 incidents, a window was open in 1 incident and a house was fumigated in 1 incident.   Tuesday, December 8th, 4:15 PM   2300 Block 236th St  (Arlington to Pennsylvania) Suspects knocked on front door, enter garage when no one answers and flee when confronted by witness.  No loss   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 17 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Heavy Black Smoke from Recycling Yard Fire in the South Bay

This report is for Sunday, November 29, 2015 through Saturday, December 5, 2015. 62 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during the reporting period.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance with 1 in Old Torrance, 1 in Seaside Ranchos, 1 in West Torrance, 1 in North Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.  A window was left open at one house and a sliding glass door was left unlocked in another home.   Saturday, December 5th, 8PM to 9PM, 22900 Block Walnut St (Southeast Torrance) Suspect removed window screen, attempted to pry open the window with no entry, no loss.   THEFT There were 19 incidents of theft including 3 stolen parcels and mail.   Sunday, November 29th, 9:14PM to 9:17PM, 21900 Block Anza (Southwood) Delivered parcel taken from front porch.   Monday, November 30th, 2PM to Tuesday, December 1st, 1:30PM, 2300 Block Sonoma St (Old Torrance) Mailbox forced open and mail stolen.   Thursday, December 3rd, 5PM

This report is for Sunday, November 22, 2015 through Saturday, November 28, 2015. 42 incidents were reported to Torrance Police.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 9 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.  2 in Hollywood Riviera and 1 each in Torrance Heights, Marble Estates, Hillside, Madrona Marsh area, Southwood Riviera, Walteria and North. Unlocked door in 2 incidents, unsecured window, open garage and unlocked garage in 3 other incidents.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 14 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 11 24 15    6:30 AM to 7:30 AM   1800 Block Schilling Court Suspect enter unlocked vehicle, ransacked and took purse.   Entry was made in 5 of the incidents by unknown means, 4 by smashing windows, 2 vehicles were unlocked and door locks were punched in 2 vehicles resulting in 3rd row seats being stolen.    AUTO THEFT 2 vehicles were stolen and none in Southeast Torrance.   LOMITA No residential burglaries.  2 stole

Santa Coming to Southeast Torrance on December 2nd and 3rd

The Torrance Police Santa Float is coming to Southeast Torrance.   Wednesday, December 2, 2015  Sepulveda to 239th Street, Crenshaw Blvd to Arlington Avenue         See map #4 in the attachment for the route. Thursday,     December 3, 2015  Sepulveda to 242nd Street, Arlington Avenue to Western Avenue         See map #5 in the attachment for the route.   Santa leaves the Torrance Police station at 5PM.  You can track Santa’s float this year by going to    https://graticule.link/g/#track/77403f87...   So at 5PM you will see Santa flying through Torrance on his way to Southeast Torrance.  Then the pace slows down once the float makes the various stops along the way.  This tracker will come in very handy with the chilly evenings.  

Torrance Police Looking for UPS Parcel Thief

On Friday, October 16, 2015, at 9:59 AM, a package was delivered to the victim’s residence in the 3800 block of Newton.  At 10:35 AM and 10:38 AM, the suspect vehicle drove past the victim’s residence.  At 10:40 AM, the suspect exited the passenger side of the suspect vehicle, walked to the victim’s front door and knocked.  At 10:41 AM, the suspect vehicle returned and the suspect entered the vehicle with the package in her hand. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: White female adult, thin to regular build, blond, long hair in ponytail, wearing sunglasses, green t-shirt, jeans, and holding a coffee cup. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Dark (gray, green or black), Toyota Tacoma pick up, 4 door, bed cover, unknown license plate. This report is for Sunday, November 8th through Saturday, November 14, 2015 55 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during this period. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 were in North Torrance and 1 in Delthorne. A front door was unlocked in one burglary and a window left open in another. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 11 in Torrance and 1 was in Southeast Torrance. Friday, 11/13/15, 8 PM to 11/14/15 7 AM  2400 Block 239th St Suspect entered unlocked vehicle and stole cash and key to steal victim’s other vehicle, a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250. This report is for Sunday, November 1, 2015 through Friday, November 6, 2015 There were 33 incidents reported to Torrance Police during this six day period.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were two in Torrance.  1 in North Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.   Monday, November 2nd, 10:03 PM 18900 Felbar Avenue (North Torrance) Suspect entered unsecured garage and took speaker, tablet, wallet, laptop and watch.   Tues, Nov 3rd, 5 PM to Nov 4th, 7 AM  23700 Block Western Avenue, Knolls Trailer Park (SE Torrance) Window forcibly removed and vacuum and floor tiles were taken.   There were 2 residential burglaries in Lomita and 7 in Rancho Palos Verdes. There were 29 incidents reported to Torrance Police during the week.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 1 in Torrance Saturday, October 31st, 10 AM  1800 Block Santa Fe Avenue (Western Ave) Window screen pried off on open window.  No entry, no loss. //There were 5 residential burglaries in RPV. //   AUTO BURGLARY There were 6 reported in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   AUTO THEFT There were 2 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   Coyote Sighting Last week, on Wednesday, a coyote was sighted in the Marble Estates and Southwood Sunray areas. A cat was reported to have been killed the previous night in that area. Yesterday morning, a coyote was seen in a yard over by Hickory School at 6:30 AM. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 3 in North, 2 in West, 1 in Old Torrance, 1 near DePortula Park and 1 in Southwood. Lomita Sheriff Detectives Arrest Torrance Woman

  Lomita Detectives File 33 Counts of Forgery on Torrance Resident A 39 year old Torrance resident is facing 33 counts of forgery and grand theft charges.   Lomita detectives, investigating a forgery case identified and arrested Jennifer McBee, 39, of Torrance CA. During the investigation, McBee was identified in an additional, unrelated, high dollar loss forgery and grand theft case.   The victim, a 73 year old Rancho Palos Verdes resident was alerted by his bank of unusual banking transactions.   On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, Lomita detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in Torrance Superior Court. 33 counts, related to forgery and grand theft were filed.  McBee remains in custody on a no bail hold.  http://shq.lasdnews.net/content/uoa/LMT/LMT-PR-LomitaDetectivesFile.pdf
