EXXONMOBIL TORRANCE REFINERY SALE DELAYED AGAIN

The sale of the ExxonMobil Torrance Refinery to PBF Energy has been pushed back to July 1, 2016 apparently because the facility is not fully operational.    Reuters is reporting the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit at the refinery is running at roughly 75 percent capacity due to repairs on one of its compressors, which could take anywhere from 30 to 60 days, according to a West Coast market source.   John Bailey, President Southeast Torrance Homeowners’ Association, Inc (SETHA)   HOUSTON, May 25 (Reuters) - Los Angeles gasoline differentials dropped 4 cents a gallon on Wednesday as regional gasoline inventories rose by 1 million barrels last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported. Gains in West Coast supply have been expected since last week when Exxon Mobil's 149,500-barrel-per-day Torrance refinery near Los Angeles restarted the fluid catalytic cracking unit at the facility, which went out of service in Febr

Proposal for the largest refinery on the West Coast in Carson and Wilmington

Tesoro Refinery Expansion      Torrance Daily Breeze Posted: 05/14/16, 8:55 PM PDT | Updated: 39 secs ago # Comments   The South Coast Air Quality Management District will host a public hearing Tuesday seeking comment on Tesoro’s proposal to unite its Wilmington and Carson oil refineries into one giant plant that would become the West Coast’s largest refinery. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center, 801 E. Carson St., in Carson. Tesoro’s Los Angeles Refinery Integration and Compliance project proposes joining its two neighboring facilities, making them more efficient. Among other changes, the company would build a new propane sales treating unit, a new sulfuric acid regeneration plant and a new wet jet treater to reduce acid levels in jet fuel. They would build two 300,000-barrel storage tanks to replace smaller, older ones in Wilmington, and up to six 500,000-barrel tanks in Carson. New

ExxonMobil Torrance Refinery Restart

The following notice has been posted on the City of Torrance website concerning the restart of the refinery.   John Bailey, President Southeast Torrance Homeowners’ Association, Inc. (SETHA)   ExxonMobil Refinery Restart Saturday, May 7, 2016 (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) As many of you know, in February 2015, an explosion occurred at the ExxonMobil Refinery. Since then, that portion of the refinery has been shut down and inoperable. In April, at a public meeting with the South Coast Air Management Quality District (AQMD) Hearing Board, ExxonMobil was given clearance to restart their operations. It is estimated, that part of the restart will result in higher particulate matter emissions for a six-hour period. This temporary increase in emissions during the restart period is not anticipated to exceed national and state health-based air quality standards. ExxonMobil will begin to restart their production operations effective May 7 during the hours of 7
