Weekly Crime Report for 12/15/ to 12/21 19 and Wendy's is Open in Southeast Torrance

  This report is for Sunday, December 15, 2019 through Saturday, December 21, 2019. 46 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=56965   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 1 in North Torrance, 1 in Torrance Heights and 1 in West Torrance.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 3 vehicles were unlocked, 1 had a window smashed for entry and 3 were entered by unknown means.   AUTO THEFT There were 7 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 vehicles were stolen on December 16th o/a 10:20 PM to 10:30 PM in the 20400 block of Hawthorne Blvd.  A 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 Hyundai were stolen and there was damage at the dealership to a gate, mechanic’s machine and a vehicle.    THEFT There were 18 incidents in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 5 parcels were stolen and 6

Catalytic Converter Theft Arrests in Hermosa Beach

  Hermosa Beach Police Department officers made a traffic stop at 4AM, Sunday, December 22, 2019 in the 500 block of Monterey in Hermosa Beach. 4 occupants were in the Kia Optima and one of them had a robbery warrant for his arrest. 4 vehicle catalytic converters, recently sawed off from Ford and Toyota vehicles, gloves, a battery powered Sawzall, blades and narcotics were found in the vehicle.  This report is for Sunday, December 8, 2019 through Saturday, December 14, 2019. 43 incidents in the Torrance Police Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=56927   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. 1 each in Southeast, Hillside, Marble Estates, Southwood and North Torrance.   12/12/19 5 PM to 7:21 PM  1900 Block 238th St (Walnut-Cabrillo) Suspect smashed smaller window, reached inside to unlock larger window for entry.   This report is for Sunday, November 17, 2019 through Saturday, November 23, 2019. 45 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=56510   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 4 in Torrance.  1 each in Southeast Torrance, Hillside, North and West Torrance.   11 23 2019   7 PM  1700 Block 236th St  Residence tented for fumigation entered.  Unknown loss.   In the Hillside burglary, suspect took property out of an unlocked vehicle and attempted to open residence door. In the North Torrance burglary, suspect attempted to force open a door and window.  No entry, no loss.     This report is for Sunday, November 10, 2019 through Saturday, November 16, 2019. 59 items listed in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 in North Torrance, 2 in the Riviera, 1 in Torrance Heights and 1 in Country Hills.   On November 11th,  a key was used to enter a residence in the 400 Block of Paseo De La Playa, in the Riviera, and suspects took up residence in a vacation rental.  They fled with stolen electronics when confronted by a housekeeper.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 21 in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. 11/13/2019  12:15 AM       2000 Block 238th St Battery stolen from vehicle. Santa Float in Southeast Torrance on December 4th and 5th

 The Torrance Police Officer’s Association Santa Float, in Torrance,  will begin on Saturday, November 30th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  Additional details can be found at:  https://torrancepoa.com/annual-events/santa-float-schedule .   Back Archive Move Delete Spam Monday Morning Pickup Chase in Torrance Yahoo / Inbox   One person was taken into custody after a pursuit suspect abandoned a pickup truck in a Torrance neighborhood Monday morning. The pursuit began around 5:15 a.m. when authorities tried to pull over a stolen vehicle in Compton, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. Sky5 was over the pickup as it approached Torrance and Crenshaw boulevards about 5:20 a.m. At one point, the pickup was traveling with its lights off and appeared to have sparks coming off the back. Authorities appeared to have backed off the chase by this time. The driver eventually stopped the pickup in the area of West 182nd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard and jumped out. Armed Robbery reported at Macy's Del Amo, Sunday, October 6, 2019 6:50PM

    The South Bay Scanner has reported the following information:   Torrance: Armed robbery just occurred from the Macy’s at Del Amo Mall. 8 black males and 3 black females, one of which was pushing a stroller, stole a necklace and one of the suspects tried to stab someone (possibly the employee). One of the suspects was possibly wearing a white hoodie and another suspect wearing a Ducks jersey. One of the female suspects was either black or hispanic, wearing jean shorts, black shirt and Michael Kors bag. Another female suspect, possible black or Hispanic wearing unknown shirt/pants has red hair. US Navy's Blue Angels Flight, Sunday, September 22nd, Over Los Angeles and the South Bay

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels flight team will tear across the Los Angeles skyline tonight as part of an orientation tour of the city. The display will begin between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and last about 20 minutes. The flight demonstration team will enter the San Fernando Valley from the northwest and buzz by Burbank Airport, Dodger Stadium, then circle downtown L.A. and head to the Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood sign, across LAX and down to L.A. Harbor over the USS Iowa.
