RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 2 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 in Walteria and 1 in Southwood.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 11 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
Locks were punched for entry in 3 vehicles, window smashed for entry in 1 vehicle,
1 vehicle was unlocked and unknown means of entry for 5 vehicles.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 5 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 22 incidents in Torrance and 5 in Southeast Torrance.
9 batteries and 7 catalytic converters were stolen in Torrance.
8 batteries were taken from parked vehicles in the 1700 Block of Crenshaw Blvd (at Carson St)
between 2/8/2020 and 2/10/2020.
4 catalytic converters were taken from parked vehicles in the 1700 Block of Sepulveda Blvd
between 2/4/2020 and 2/6/2020. 1 catalytic converter was stolen in the 2300 Block of 233rd St
between 2/7/2020 and 2/10/2020 in Southeast Torrance.
It has been reported that recyclers will pay $10 a battery if a lot of 50 batteries is turned in for
recycling.
 
HOMICIDE
A homicide occurred between 2/2/2020 12 p.m. and 2/3/2020 7:42 a.m. in the 3300 block of Torrance
Blvd, outside of the Torrance Library.  Suspect pushed the victim off his bicycle, causing victim to
hit his head on concrete and then repeatedly punched the victim in the head.  An arrest was made.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION IN SOUTHEAST TORRANCE
Trash pickup scheduled for Thursday, February 13th will be on Friday, February 14th due to Lincoln’s Birthday.
Trash pickup scheduled for Thursday, February 20th will be on Friday, February 21st due to President’s Day.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
