This report is for Sunday, October 4, 2020 through Saturday, October 10, 2020. 46 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=61984 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 1 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 10/9/2020 4-6 PM 3000 Block 235th Street Window smashed for entry and sunglasses stolen. AUTO BURGLARY There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 vehicles were unlocked and windows smashed in 3 vehicles. Items stolen were tools, two purses, registration, insurance, bags, and computer monitor. AUTO THEFT There were 7 stolen vehicles in Torrance including 2 in Southeast Torrance, 2 in commercial areas, 1 each in Seaside, Madrona and North Torrance. Location of two stolen vehicles in SE Torrance. 10/6/2020 6 PM to 10/7/2020 6:45 AM 23000 Block of Arlington Avenue and 2400 Block of 230th Place. THEFT There were 14 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 9 catalytic converters were stolen, 1 failed attempt to steal a converter and aviation gasoline was siphoned out of an aircraft at Torrance Airport. VANDALISM There were 8 incident in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
