This report is for Sunday, September 27, 2020 through Saturday, October 3, 2020. 45 incidents listed in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=61886 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 2 in Torrance. 1 each in North Torrance and the Madrona area. Both involved stealing tools from garages. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 9 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 3 vehicles were unlocked. Items stolen included 2 wallets, backpack, 2 bags, documents, duffel bag,insurance, registration, golf bag, golf clubs, sunglasses, cash, purse, and more cash. AUTO THEFT There were 11 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. THEFT There were 7 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. One catalytic converter stolen and one failed attempt to steal another one. VANDALISM 9 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Vehicle windows were smashed in the 3300 Block of Lomita Blvd (Torrance Memorial Parking), 2700 & 2800 Blocks of 176th, 3800 3900 and 4100 Blocks of 182nd, and 3600 Block of 186th. BATTERY WEAPON - AGG 10/3/2020 7:56 PM 100 Block Vista Del Parque (El Retiro Park) Suspect stabs victim in the face and neck. 9/30/2020 6:06 PM 18600 Block Hawthorne Blvd Suspect accelerates freshly stolen vehicle he is driving into victim's occupied vehicle when victim traps him. This report is for Sunday, July 11, 2021 through Saturday, July 17, 2021. 45 incidents reported in the City of Torrance Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/67336/637625553607530000 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 1 each in Southeast Torrance, Old Torrance and the Hillside area. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
