This report is for Sunday, October 18, 2020 through Saturday, October 24, 2020. 62 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=62155 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 4 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 1 each in North, Seaside, Torrance Heights and Walteria. 3 residences were unsecured. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 22 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 11 vehicles were unlocked and windows smashed in 5 vehicles for entry. Items stolen included printer cartridges, charger, registration, sunglasses, duffel, baseball gear, gift cards, registration, camping gear, clothes, generator, golf clubs, golf bag, more golf clubs, tools, gasoline, another golf bag, more golf clubs, backpack, spikes, chainsaw, diaper bag, jump ropes, headphones, wallet, media console, another backpack, another wallet, purse, cash, another charger, shoes and more sunglasses. 10 19 2020 8:14PM 3000 Block Sepulveda Blvd at Maple Stolen purse. Suspects posed as auto painters, worked together to distract victim and stole her purse out of her vehicle after she just returned the shopping cart. AUTO THEFT There were 8 incidents in Torrance and 2 of them were in Southeast Torrance. 10 19 2020 1:48 AM 235th Place and Walnut Stolen 2011 Lexus 350 10 23 2020 2100 230th St Stolen 2003 GMC Sierra THEFT There were 14 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 5 catalytic converters were stolen and 2 incidents of delivered parcels stolen from porches. ROBBERY – WEAPON There were 2 incidents in Torrance. 1 in North Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 10 23 2020 4:45 AM 2400 Block 235th Street Suspects pepper spray victim and push him to the ground when victim confronts suspects in the process of taking his vehicle’s catalytic converter. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
