RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 5 in Torrance.  4 in North Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
6/26/2020 7:30 to 8:30 PM  22900 Cabrillo Av  Entry via unlocked door, property ransacked with cell phone stolen.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 11 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 12 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
6/25 9:30 PM to 6/26 8:30 AM  1900 Block Middlebrook Road  Suspect takes property out of possibly unlocked vehicle/laptop.
 
THEFT
There were 19 incident in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
No reports of porch piracy.  Hub caps were stolen from 3 vehicles in North Torrance
7 catalytic converters were stolen in North Torrance, Old Torrance and Southwood Riviera.

Kidnapping/ Attempted Murder Arrests” On May 28, 2020, at approximately 7:00 PM, Torrance Police Officers responded to the 2500 block of 166th Place regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old male adult suffering from gunshot wounds. The Torrance Fire Department treated the victim at the scene and later transported him to a local hospital. During the investigation, officers learned the victim was kidnapped from the City of Carson over missing property and taken to a Torrance residence in the 2600 block of 166th Place. While at the residence, an altercation occurred, and the victim sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was able to escape from the suspects during the altercation and ran down the street where officers located him. Officers checked the involved residence, but the suspects were gone before officers arrived. Investigators learned the victim and the suspects were known to each other, and there was no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives conducted an in-depth investigation, extensive follow-up, and were able to identify the involved suspects. Torrance Police Detectives and SWAT officers later located and arrested Omar Jaramillo, a 34-year-old of Carson, Huy Huynh, a 39-year-old of Torrance, Mark Alvarado, a 30-year-old of Long Beach, and Sabrina Lunalong, a 28-year-old of Carson. There is no evidence indicating there were additional suspects involved.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
