Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance

 This report is for Sunday, December 10, 2017 through Saturday, December 16, 2017.
There were 44 entries in the log.
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
There was one on Saturday, December 16th between 10 AM and 1:15PM, in the 16600
Block of Van Ness Avenue.  SuspectSleeping half-moon pried open rear door for entry and entered garage.
Firearm, safe, cash, keys, paperwork and 2004 Lexus ES330 were stolen.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 12 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 
12/13/2017  10 AM to 11 AM  23600 Block Arlington Avenue
Suspect entered unlocked vehicle and took wallet.
 
Items taken from the 12 vehicles included laptop, dash camera, purse, cash, credit cards,
sunglasses, makeup, backpack, wallet, passport, watches, air compressor, knife, headphones,
clothes, more sunglasses, another wallet, ladder, tools, wire, garage door opener, keys, another
laptop and a vehicle battery.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 7 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
VANDALISM
For the second week in a row, windows were broken in commercial businesses in Torrance.
12/12 to 12/13 in the 18800, 20500 (Spencer), 20600 (Garnet), 20900 (Emerald) 24400 and 24500 (Walteria)
Blocks of Hawthorne Blvd. 
 
THEFT
There were 9 reported incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
Delivered parcels were taken from a porch in the 4500 Block of Newton Street on 12/16/2017 at approximately
6 AM and another from a porch in the 16600 Block of Ogram Avenue on 12/13/2017 at 2 PM.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
