Community: Suspect points gun at loss prevention
 
On Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 7:15 PM, the suspect was observed inside JC PENNEY, 21840 Hawthorne Blvd, selecting merchandise in the men’s sportswear department and placing it inside a JC PENNEY courtesy bag. The suspect then exited the west doors of the store without paying for the selected merchandise. When he was confronted by Loss Prevention, he reached into his right front pants pocket, retrieved a black semi-auto handgun and pointed it at the victim while yelling, "Get back, get back," before fleeing in the suspect vehicle.
 
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: White or Hispanic male adult, 18-25 years old, 5’7”-5’10” tall, slender build, wearing a blue and white trucker hat (possibly VANS), black and white t-shirt with "Live Fast" on the front, dark jeans, and "Ambitious" tattoo on his outer right forearm.
 
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Newer black BMW 5-Series, 4 Door, no
window tint, no license plates, parked backed into a handicap stall
just west of the west doors.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles for entry. Items stolen included a wallet, speaker, cash, sunglasses, a key, backpacks, clothes, tablet
