RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 each in Old Torrance, North Torrance and the New Horizons area.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 13 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
4 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed in 5 vehicles for entry.
 
Items stolen included laptop, tablet, sunglasses, camera, earbuds, a bag, paperwork,
auxiliary cable, air pump, cell phone, toolboxes, drills, skill saw, sawzall, jigsaw, grinder, nailers, batteries, purse, wallet, another wallet and tablet, laptop, camera, check book, earphones, and sunglasses.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were no reports of stolen vehicles in Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 6 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 
 
Catalytic converters were stolen from 3 vehicles in North Torrance and 1
in the 2600 Block of Del Amo Blvd on October 10th at 1:43 PM.  A delivered
parcel was taken off the front porch in the 3500 Block of Cricklewood St. at 10:19 PM on 10/10/19.
 
ROBBERY-STRONG ARM
10 6 2019  6:43 PM  3500 Block Carson St  Suspects forcibly removed victim’s
property off of her neck/jewelry.
 
CITY COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2019
Currently, the City Clerk and the City Treasurer are elected by the voters of Torrance.  Item 9B on the
agenda includes resolutions for the voters on the March 2020 ballot to make the following changes to
the City of Torrance Charter:
 
City Clerk -  The City Clerk will be appointed by the City Manager and shall be responsible to and under the supervision of the City Manager and shall be a member of the classified service of the City.
 
City Treasurer – The City Treasurer will be appointed by the City Manager and shall be responsible to and under the supervision of the City Manager and shall be a member of the classified service of the City.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
