Hello John,
This was a police operation where Torrance Police SWAT team was utilized. This was a very controlled operation during which none of the public was at risk. The police operation culminated few hours ago and rest ashore there is no danger to the public. Furthermore, Rest assure that Torrance Police Department does its best to protect its citizens and to provide the best service. Also, due to the fact this is an ongoing investigation I cannot make any further comments related to that. I would like to thank you for reaching out to us and please don’t ever hesitate to do so in the future.

involving a SWAT vehicle, drone activity and a loud explosion.

This report is for Sunday, July 11, 2021 through Saturday, July 17, 2021. 45 incidents reported in the City of Torrance Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/67336/637625553607530000 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 1 each in Southeast Torrance, Old Torrance and the Hillside area. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles for entry. Items stolen included a wallet, speaker, cash, sunglasses, a key, backpacks, clothes, tablet
