𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡. The past 12 days, Torrance Police have issued 9,150 street sweeping warnings — but citations start up again next Monday, April 19th. Make sure to move your vehicle for the 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝟑 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. This report is for Sunday, April 4, 2021 through Saturday, April 10, 2021. 45 incidents in the Torrance PD Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=64118 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 1 In Old Torrance AUTO BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 2 in the Riviera and 1 in North Torrance. All three vehicles were unlocked. Items stolen included lifeguard gear, sunglasses, backpack and fishing gear. AUTO THEFT There were 11 stolen vehicles and 7 of them were older model pickups and SUV type vehicles. Silverados are popular. THEFT There were 17 incidents including 2 in Southeast Torrance. 6 incidents involved catalytic converters, 2 stolen bicycles and 1 porch piracy incident. 3 incidents of wallets being stolen from purses while victims were shopping. 4/4/2021 11:30 am to 1:30 pm 5000 Block of Pacific Coast Highway (Plaza Mayor Shopping Center) and 4800 Block of Maricopa St. 4/8/2021 6 pm 3000 Block Sepulveda Blvd (at Maple) 1 cell phone taken out of victim's purse while shopping. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
