RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 4 in Torrance.
3 in North Torrance and 1 in Southwood.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 vehicles were unlocked and 3 vehicles had windows smashed for entry.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 4 in Torrance.
2 in North Torrance, 1 in the Riviera and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
1/17/2020  10:12 AM  240th St and Walnut St  Stolen 1995 Chevrolet truck.
 
THEFT
There were 26 incidents in Torrance.
13 incidents of stolen batteries.
  10 in Southeast Torrance, 2 in Old Torrance and 1 in North Torrance
  Batteries stolen in SE Torrance in the 23300 Block of Arlington, 23700 Block of
  Western Av, 234th & Arlington, 2200 Block of 231st, 2000 Block of 233rd, and
  2200 Block of 234th on Saturday, 1/18 to Sunday 1/19.
Catalytic converters stolen from 3 vehicles in North Torrance.
4 porch piracy incidents with 3 in North Torrance and 1 in Country Hills.
 
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
7 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
STRONG ARM ROBBERY
1 incident in Torrance and it was in Southeast Torrance.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
