This report is for Sunday, January 13, 2019 through Saturday, January 19, 2019.
46 incidents are listed on the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 2 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 in Old Torrance and 1 in North Torrance. 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 13 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
3 were on January 16th between 6 PM and 8:25 PM in the  3500 Block of Carson St (Del Amo Mall)
AUTO THEFT
There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance
THEFT
There were 15 reported incidents including car batteries being stolen in North Torrance and Old Torrance.
REPORTED CRIMES AND ARRESTS IN LOMITA
Residential Burglaries – None
Auto Burglaries
There were two incidents, both vehicles unlocked.  On 1/15/2019 in the 1900 Block of 259th Place, 3 AM,  two suspects
were arrested for stealing gloves, vapor cartridge, tax documents, photos, lights, ring door bell, sunglasses, portable
baby seat, flash drives, laptop, toner, discs and mail.  All of the items were recovered by Lomita Sheriff’s Station.
Arrests in Lomita
1 assault, 1 battery, 1 grand theft, 1 vandalism, 1 vehicle violation, 3 warrants and 1 weapons charge.
UPDATE ON PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA
The property at 2355 Sepulveda Blvd & Vine Avenue, site of the closed Bikeology and Mattress stores, has been sold
for $2.65 million.  A martial arts firm will be occupying one of the buildings.
The property at 26000 Crenshaw Blvd, site of the closed Social Security Administration facility, is the proposed site
for a combination medical/apartment complex with approximately 73 apartments.  The current building will be
demolished.  We will keep you abreast of the project which will be reviewed by the Planning Commission and the
City Council because of the zoning change. 
TRASH TRUCK FIRE IN TORRANCE THIS MORNING
Torrance fire department responded to a fully involved Republic Services commercial trash truck fire earlier this morning. TFD crews were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes of arrival.  No reported injuries.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
