There are 44 incidents listed in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 each in North Torrance, Southwood Riviera and Riviera areas.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 22 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
Items stolen included laptop, walletanother wallet, tool bag, carpentry tools, drills, saw, another
drill, camera viewer, purse, bag, cell phone, boots, another wallet, another wallet, clothes, bowling
balls, bowling ball bag, bowling shoes, registration, insurance, GPS, key, clothes, backpacks, another
wallet, cosmetics, cell phone, chargers, more keys, gift cards, another wallet, cash, flashlight, leaf
blower, purse, another laptop, sunglasses, watch, another backpak and laptop, car seats, stroller,
diaper bag, laptop bag, another wallet and a bin of tools.  A total of 7 wallets stolen this reporting week.
 
Auto burglaries in parking lots show people are looking for easy pickings.

AUTO THEFT
There were 3 stolen vehicles and 1 failed attempt to steal a forklift in North Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 6 reported incidents and none in Southeast Torrance.
Catalytic converters were stolen in Walteria and Southwood Riviera.
 
UPDATE ON WENDY’S
The new Wendy’s project at 2402 Sepulveda Blvd is approved and moving forward.  The
appeal period of the Planning Commission approval has past and the developer is proceeding
with a full set of plans for the site.  It is anticipated the plans will be submitted to the City
of Torrance in the first month or two of 2019.  Plan check by the City of Torrance follows and
may take up to four months based on past projects.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
