AQMD August 24, 2016 Meeting in Torrance


 

 
Background Information:
     
      On June 3, 2016, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Governing Board approved the establishment of a Special Revenue Fund to receive monies pursuant to a settlement agreement with ExxonMobil.  SCAQMD staff is proposing to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit project(s) amounting to approximately $2.77 million dollars to be implemented in the City of Torrance.  The proposal to release the RFP will be before the SCAQMD Governing Board on Friday, September 2, 2016 for consideration.

When:                 Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Where:                Toyota Meeting Hall, Torrance Cultural Arts Center, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance CA  90503 (next to the Armstrong Theater)
 
The purpose of the August 24, 2016 meeting is to solicit ideas from community members and other stakeholders on the use of ExxonMobil settlement monies for project(s) that provide public health and quality of life improvements. Input from the community may include, but not be limited to: the type and location of projects; proposal evaluation criteria; and other considerations to be included in the proposed RFP.

The format of the meeting will be as follows:  short presentations by SCAQMD staff, then the attendees will break out into round table discussions to gather input from the community.  After the round table discussions the attendees will come back together for a brief wrap-up. 

After the Community Meeting, the information will be incorporated into the report and RFP for the SCAQMD Governing Board consideration on September 2, 2016 at 9:00 am.  The Governing Board meeting is held at:  SCAQMD, 21865 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA  91765.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
