The City of Lomita will host a Household Hazardous Waste Round-up at the City Hall parking lot on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Household hazardous waste includes paint, glue, pesticides, oil (including used motor oil) solvents, cleansers, old medicine, and car and dry-cell batteries as well as electronic waste (computer monitors, TVs, printers, cell phones, old Christmas electric lights, etc.)
Improper disposal of these materials pollutes the City and endangers children, pets and wildlife.
Remember:
•Limit of 15 gallons or 125 lbs per vehicle
•Do not mix items
•Keep original labels on containers if possible
•Place items in a sturdy box in the trunk of your car
•No waste from businesses will be accepted
•No explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, tires, trash, refrigerators or stoves accepted.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
