Torrance Police Alert

The Torrance Police Department has been investigating a significant increase in acts of vandalism to local businesses in the past 3 months. In these cases, suspects have been breaking the front windows of local businesses along a number of major thoroughfares in the City, with a heavy concentration on businesses located on Hawthorne Boulevard, Pacific Coast Highway and Sepulveda Boulevard. In a number of these crimes, the suspects have used a BB/pellet guns to shoot out the front windows of the business. Several businesses have been the target of this vandalism on multiple occasions.

The Torrance Police Department is reminding all business owners, both those of victim businesses and those adjacent to victim businesses, to remain vigilant and we are asking them to review all of their surveillance video footage to help identify the suspects. Any information about these crimes should be reported to the Torrance Police Department Detective Division at (310) 618-5570.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
