Another SETHA Tour In Torrance

The Southeast Torrance Homeowners' Association, Inc., (SETHA) is sponsoring a tour of the Chen Art Gallery located at the world headquarters of Sunrider International in Torrance. It is a hidden treasure of Chinese art and artifacts. The museum features art and antiques with the only replica of a Qing Dynasty Imperial Throne at the beginning of the exhibit.

The tour begins with a short visual presentation about Chinese history and culture. There is a Ming Dynasty bedroom furniture collection and an exquisite display of jade, bronze, porcelain ceramics and snuff bottles.

Holly Chase, the museum coordinator, will be our guide on the museum tour. There are three Chinese museums in Los Angeles County but this is the only private art collection. The tours offers a way to experience and learn about Chinese culture in an impressive setting. After the museum tour, you can visit the garden which has a beautiful pagoda and a waterfall that flows into a koi fish pond.
