This report is for Sunday, September 25, 2016 through Saturday, October 1, 2016.
60 incidents were reported to Torrance Police.
 
 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
 There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance
4 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance, 1 in Southwood Riviera, 1 in West Torrance
and 1 in Country Hills.
 
AUTO BURGLARY
 There were 14 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
7 of the vehicles were not secured. 
This is a list of items stolen:
Laptop, manual, registration (2), insurance, sunglasses, purses (4), charger, vaporizer, pictures,
paperwork, remote, GPS, third row seats, cash, safe, documents, jewelry and cell phone.
 
AUTO THEFT
 There were 7 stolen vehicles and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
 
STREET LIGHT OUTAGES
With the daylight hours decreasing and the auto burglaries on the rise, it is important
that you report street light outages to Southern California Edison. 
It is up to us to report them.

Each street light pole has a number.  The number is on the street side of the pole about 8 feet off the ground.  Be sure to get the pole number
so you can enter it on the outage report.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
