Weekly Crime Report May 13 to May 19, 2018 and Other News

  We are unable to send the Weekly Crime Report for Sunday, May 13, 2018 through Saturday, May 19, 2018 because the information is not available.   New 34 Suite Hotel in Southeast Torrance The Torrance Planning Commission on June 6th at 7PM in the City Council Chambers will consider an application for a new 34 suite hotel in the C-3 zone at 2320 Sepulveda Blvd.  This is the site of the closed Golden Kids Preschool, on the south side of Sepulveda Blvd between Cypress and Pennsylvania Avenue.  The last sale of this property was on April 25, 2016 for $1,020,000.00.   Costco Parking Lot Update Can’t remember where you parked your car while shopping at Costco.  Costco has placed alpha numerical row identification at the end of each row.  Row A begins on the south side of the parking lot.  See the attachment for a picture of the marker.   This is one of a number of changes upcoming at Torrance Costco in response to suggestions

Weekly Crime Report May 6, 2018 through May 12, 2018

This report is for Sunday, May 6 through Saturday, May 12, 2018. There were 49 reported incidents.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 4 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance and 1 in the Madrona area. 2 burglaries were from open garages and another from an unlocked garage.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 1 vehicle was unlocked. Items stolen included a police uniform, speaker, backpack, microphone, whistle, binder, suitcase, hotspot device, garage door remote, another backpack, video games, purse, wallet, sunglasses, clothes, another garage door remote, gate remote, shoes, blanket, music CDs and a manual.   AUTO THEFT There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   THEFT There were 14 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. A tailgate was stolen from a truck in North Torrance, batteries were stolen from 2 vehicles in North Torra

Arrest Made in Rolling Hills Stabbing Death

An arrest has been made in connection with the stabbing death of a woman at a Rolling Hills Estates mall, L.A. Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance 4 29 2018 to 5 5 2018

  This report is for Sunday, April 29, 2018 through Saturday, May 5, 2018. There were 36 entries in the log.  Link to the Torrance PD Weekly Crime Log. https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=39430   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance including 1 each in Southeast Torrance, North Torrance, West Torrance, Delthorne and Southwood.   May 2, 2018  4:50 AM  22900 Block Cabrillo Avenue Suspect entered unlocked door and took purse.   The North Torrance residence was tented and unsecured for fumigation from May 4th to May 6th. The West Torrance residence door was unlocked, property was ransacked and tablet stolen on May 2nd. The Delthorne residence door was unlocked and a purse was stolen on May 2nd.  A bicycle was taken from an open garage in Southwood at 1AM on May 2nd.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Update on the Rolling Hills Estates Homicide Investigation

The City of Rolling Hills Estates is hosting a Facebook Live event tonight, Tuesday, May 8th at 6:00 PM regarding the Rolling Hills Estates homicide investigation.   The LA County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, LA County Sheriff’s Lomita Station Captain Dan Beringer and City of Rolling Hills Estate City Manager Doug Prichard will be participating.   The event will provide the latest information on the investigation and include responses to questions that come up during the event.   Go to facebook.com/CityRollingHillsEstates to view the Facebook Live event.   This link is available to the public, including those who do not have a Facebook account.   Once the live stream has concluded, a video will remain on the City’s Facebook page ( facebook.com/CityRollingHillsEstates ) and will be posted on the City’s webpage  www.rhe.city/crimeupdate .
