Monday Morning Pickup Chase in Torrance

  Back Archive Move Delete Spam Monday Morning Pickup Chase in Torrance Yahoo / Inbox   One person was taken into custody after a pursuit suspect abandoned a pickup truck in a Torrance neighborhood Monday morning. The pursuit began around 5:15 a.m. when authorities tried to pull over a stolen vehicle in Compton, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. Sky5 was over the pickup as it approached Torrance and Crenshaw boulevards about 5:20 a.m. At one point, the pickup was traveling with its lights off and appeared to have sparks coming off the back. Authorities appeared to have backed off the chase by this time. The driver eventually stopped the pickup in the area of West 182nd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard and jumped out.  This report is for Sunday, October 6, 2019 through Saturday, October 12, 2019. 30 incidents listed on the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=55529   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 1 each in Old Torrance, North Torrance and the New Horizons area.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 13 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed in 5 vehicles for entry.   Items stolen included laptop, tablet, sunglasses, camera, earbuds, a bag, paperwork, auxiliary cable, air pump, cell phone, toolboxes, drills, skill saw, sawzall, jigsaw, grinder, nailers, batteries, purse, wallet, another wallet and tablet, laptop, camera, check book, earphones, and sunglasses.   AUTO THEFT There were no reports of stolen vehicles in Torrance.   THEFT There were 6 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.

Armed Robbery reported at Macy's Del Amo, Sunday, October 6, 2019 6:50PM

    The South Bay Scanner has reported the following information:   Torrance: Armed robbery just occurred from the Macy’s at Del Amo Mall. 8 black males and 3 black females, one of which was pushing a stroller, stole a necklace and one of the suspects tried to stab someone (possibly the employee). One of the suspects was possibly wearing a white hoodie and another suspect wearing a Ducks jersey. One of the female suspects was either black or hispanic, wearing jean shorts, black shirt and Michael Kors bag. Another female suspect, possible black or Hispanic wearing unknown shirt/pants has red hair.
