Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance

This report is for Sunday, January 12, 2013 through Saturday, January  18 ,2014   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 7 burglaries in Torrance.  2 in North Torrance, 2 in Southwood-Riviera and 1 each in Country Hills, Madrona and Southeast Torrance. January 13th, 6:45AM to 5:40PM  2100 Block 235th Street ( Cabrillo-Arlington ) Front door kicked in for entry.  Residence ransacked and jewelry/ jewelry box stolen.   On January 14th, 8AM to 3PM, a residential burglary took place  in the 2000 Block of Dawn Street in Lomita.  This location is west of Lomita Park.  Entry was made through a sliding glass door. A witness saw possible suspects with the following description:   Male, Hispanic, 16-17 years old, 5’9” 140 lbs, brown eyes, wearing a grey hoodie with red stripes.   Male, Hispanic, 16 –18 years old, 6’ to 6”1”, 180 lbs, black hair, wearing light blue hat who looked through the window of the witness’s front door.  Suspects stated they

Auto Burglaries in Southeast Torrance

SETHA has been advised that two mail subjects were observed on 235th Place between Arlington (Haas) and Walnut Street on Sunday night, January 19th, walking down the street opening unlocked car doors.  Residents chased the suspects east to Walnut Street were they jumped the fence into the Knolls Trailer Park.  Torrance Police were notified.   Donʼt leave valuables in-sight and lock your vehicle... • Thieves watch shopping center parking lots during the day and our residential streets at night. • More and more unlocked vehicles are being targeted!   Don’t leave your garage door opener in your car when you park your car on the street at night.

This report is for Sunday, January 5, 2014 through Saturday, January 11, 2014.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 14 residential burglaries in Torrance. 4 in North Torrance, 4 in Southeast Torrance , 2 in Old Torrance, 2 in West Torrance, 1 in Hollywood Riviera and 1 east of the Madrona Marsh.   Sunday, Jan 5 9AM to Sunday, Jan 12, 6PM             2400 Block 236th St (Arlington – Pennsylvania) Window smashed for entry and residence ransacked.  Unknown property loss   Monday, Jan 6 12:30PM to 2:30PM                         1900 Block 230th St (Walnut – Cabrillo) Sliding glass door smashed for entry.  Residence ransacked and property taken including safe, cash, handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, keys, documents, laptop and jewelry. Weekily Crime Report for Southeast Torrance

  Several SETHA members have asked about why I no longer send out the weekly crime report for our area.  I compile the information from the Torrance Police Department website but the last entry was made on December 15, 2013.  The website indicates they are having technical difficulties.   Unfortunately, the residential burglars are back in Southeast Torrance.  SETHA members have reported two residential burglaries this week.  Here are the details:   Monday, January 6th, 12:30PM to 2:30PM, 230th St and Walnut Large dog locked in the bathroom by the suspects and a 500+ pound safe was taken.   Tuesday, January 7th, residential burglary, north side of Sur La Brea Park. Burglars entered residence by unknown means and alarm was activated.  No additional details on property loss.   One victim reported that Torrance Police indicated there have been a rash of break-ins in the area from Sepulveda Blvd on the nor
