Weekly Crime Report for January 17 through January 23, 2021

This report is for Sunday, January 17, 2021 through Saturday, January 23, 2021. 55 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=63044 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was one attempted burglary in the 3700 Block of 182nd Street. A window screen was cut but no entry. Property was taken out of the yard. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 12 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Windows were smashed in 5 vehicles for entry. 1 vehicle was unlocked. AUTO THEFT There were 13 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. The vehicle of choice this reported period was the Chevy Silverado. THEFT There were 13 incidents in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. 1/20 to 1/21 23800 Block Arlington Ave Catalytic converter stolen. This report is for Sunday, January 10, 2021 through Saturday, January 16, 2021. There are 56 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=62981 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 2 in Torrance. 1 in North Torrance and 1 in Walteria. In the January 12th incident in the 4300 Block of 182nd Street, a remote taken in a auto burglary in another city was used to open the victim's garage and entrance was made to the house were rifles, laptops and a wallet were stolen. AUTO BURGLARIES A big drop in auto burglaries with only 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. PATIENT AND COMMUNITY VACCINE ADMINISTRATION UPDATE County Executive Order Opens Vaccinations To 65 and Older this Week As of January 20, 2021 -- Earlier this week, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors released an executive order directing county health officials to make COVID-19 vaccination appointments available to Los Angeles county residents 65 and older. While we welcome this news, we are awaiting confirmation on the availability of vaccine doses to expand our vaccination clinics to people 65 years and older (must be LA county residents). At this time, the County is distributing weekly allocations of the vaccine based on what is available at the county level. As a result, Torrance Memorial will likely hold limited vaccine clinics in the coming weeks until more vaccine is made available to the county. We are in daily contact with LACDPH and are actively preparing to hold vaccination clinics to those in Phase 1A and LA County residents 65 years of age and ol

This report is for Sunday, January 3, 2021 through Saturday, January 9, 2021. There are 56 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=62925 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was 1 in the 3400 Block of Maricopa Street 1/8 1:30 AM Suspect removed screen, slid window open and fled when confronted by occupant. AUTO BURGLARY There were 27 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Windows were smashed in 12 vehicles for entry, 11 vehicles were unlocked and 6 were entered by unknown means. Items stolen included a laptop, sunglasses, cardholder, duffel gloves. shoes, earbuds, 5 wallets, toolbox, tools, cash, monopad, coin purse, backpack, debit card and more. AUTO THEFT There were 6 stolen/attempted stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. US Mail and packages were stolen from a USPS truck in the 18900 Block Florwood Av in the afternoon of December 31st. AUTO THEFT There were 6 vehicles stolen in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. A 2019 Honda Accord was stolen in the 23300 Block of Arlington Ave between 10 PM, 12/27 and 9 AM 12/28.
