Weekly Crime Report 12/27 to 1/2/2021

This report is for Sunday, December 27, 2020 through Saturday, January 2, 2021. There are 36 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=62851 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was 1 in Old Torrance AUTO BURGLARIES There were 11 in Torrance. 5 vehicles were unsecured/unlocked and 3 vehicles had windows smashed for entry. US Mail and packages were stolen from a USPS truck in the 18900 Block Florwood Av in the afternoon of December 31st. AUTO THEFT There were 6 vehicles stolen in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. A 2019 Honda Accord was stolen in the 23300 Block of Arlington Ave between 10 PM, 12/27 and 9 AM 12/28. THEFT There were 10 incidents of theft including 8 stolen catalytic converters. 4 of them were stolen in the 1800 Block of Carson St. COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES There were 4 in Torrance. On December 31, 2020 at 12:22 AM in the 3400 Block of Lomita Blvd, a glass door was smashed for entry to the building lobby, the metal gate to the business was forced open and cash along with pharmaceuticals were stolen. Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
