Attempted Residential Break-In

Thursday, July 16th    Rocketship Park area in the Riviera   Attempted residential break-in. Suspect (s) removed window screens but did not gain entry as the windows were locked. Then they smashed the sliding glass door but it was double pained. They didn’t break thru the second pane of glass.  No entry.   The side gates were not locked.  Some residents do no lock a side gate so the gas meter reader can have access to the device. Your Southern California Gas bill has the scheduled meter read date printed on your monthly bill.  Other folks have Southern California Gas supplied locks on the gate providing access to the meter.  If you keep your gate locked all the time, Southern California Gas will figure a way to bill you.   Note: Southern California Gas Company is upgrading the residential and most business natural gas meters by adding an advanced meter communications device.  This project is scheduled to start in zip code 90501 on 9/28/201
