This report is for Sunday, July 6, 2014 through Saturday, July 12, 2014.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 11 residential burglaries in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 in North Torrance, 3 in West Torrance, 2 in Hollywood Riviera, 1 in Walteria and 1 in Old Torrance.   AUTO BURGLARY There were 10 auto burglaries in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.  This report is for Monday, June 30th through Saturday, July 5, 2014   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance.  1 each in Hollywood Riviera, North Torrance and Southeast Torrance.   Wednesday, July 2nd, 11AM to 1:49PM, 2200 Block 235th Street (Arlington to Pennsylvania) Suspect cut screen, entered unlock window, ransacked property and took watch, game console, camera, camera lens, laptops, tablet, jewelry, cash and pillowcase.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 12 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   AUTO THEFT There were 5 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. Tuesday, July 1st, 5:06PM, 230th and Arlington, 1996 Honda Civic stolen.   SIMPLE BATTERY Thursday, July 3rd, 8:45AM, 1900 Block 233rd St Suspect shoved victim who lost balance, fell and fractured a rib.  

4 Arrests in Lomita Burglary

  TITLE: Several Arrested for Burglary at the Islamic Center of the South Bay, Lomita #LASD, @LMTLASD DATE: Wednesday, July 09, 2014   TIME: 12:00PM   LOCATION: 25800 block Walnut Street, Lomita   VICTIM: Islamic Center of the South Bay   SUSPECT(S): Matthew Pacheco, John Gerlak, Carlos Perez, Adam Collras   UNIT: Lomita Sheriff Station   NARRATIVE:   On July 9, 2014, Matthew Pacheco, resident of Long Beach, John Gerlak, resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, Carlos Perez, resident of Long Beach and Adam Collras, resident of Lomita were arrested for Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Narcotics.   On July 6, 2014, the Islamic Center of the South Bay was burglarized. The crime was captured on video. The video showed two men, later identified as Matthew Pacheco and John Gerlak entering the place of worship and taking numerous televisions, laptop computers and other electronic equipment. The two men fled in a white Chevrolet work truck loaded
