Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance


This report is for Sunday, January 12, 2013 through Saturday, January  18 ,2014

 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES

There were 7 burglaries in Torrance.  2 in North Torrance, 2 in Southwood-Riviera
and 1 each in Country Hills, Madrona and Southeast Torrance.

January 13th, 6:45AM to 5:40PM  2100 Block 235th Street ( Cabrillo-Arlington )
Front door kicked in for entry.  Residence ransacked and jewelry/ jewelry box
stolen.

 

On January 14th, 8AM to 3PM, a residential burglary took place  in the 2000 Block
of Dawn Street in Lomita.  This location is west of Lomita Park.  Entry was made
through a sliding glass door.
A witness saw possible suspects with the following description:
 
Male, Hispanic, 16-17 years old, 5’9” 140 lbs, brown eyes, wearing a grey hoodie with
red stripes.
 
Male, Hispanic, 16 –18 years old, 6’ to 6”1”, 180 lbs, black hair, wearing light blue
hat who looked through the window of the witness’s front door.  Suspects stated they
were looking for Waldo.  Witness saw suspects, an hour later, walking away from his
locked side gate.

 

AUTO BURGLARIES

There were 10 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
