Weekly Crime Report May 6, 2018 through May 12, 2018



This report is for Sunday, May 6 through Saturday, May 12, 2018.
There were 49 reported incidents.
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 4 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance and 1 in the Madrona area.
2 burglaries were from open garages and another from an unlocked garage.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 vehicle was unlocked.
Items stolen included a police uniform, speaker, backpack, microphone, whistle,
binder, suitcase, hotspot device, garage door remote, another backpack, video
games, purse, wallet, sunglasses, clothes, another garage door remote, gate
remote, shoes, blanket, music CDs and a manual.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 14 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
A tailgate was stolen from a truck in North Torrance, batteries were stolen
from 2 vehicles in North Torrance, catalytic converters were stolen from 8 vehicles,
and oxygen sensors from 2 vehicles.
 
1 catalytic converter was stolen in North Torrance, 3 in Southwood Riviera, 3 in Walteria, and
1 in Country Hills.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
