Advisory: Peeping/Prowling Incidents Bulletin

In the last two weeks, there have been two reported incidents in South Torrance wherein a black male adult has prowled/peeped in females’ residence windows after they’ve arrived home between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m. on weekdays.

On Thursday, October 06, 2016, the resident arrived home in the 4500 block of Newton and was retrieving luggage from her trunk when she noticed a subject walking on Newton toward her house.  She wheeled the luggage up the driveway and began to enter her residence when she noticed the subject had crossed the street and appeared to be watching her.  After entering her residence, she looked out one of her windows and observed the subject walk up the driveway and crouch between two vehicles, as if trying to conceal himself.  The resident activated her car alarm and the male walked quickly down the driveway, west on Newton and out of sight.

On Monday, October 17, 2016, a mother and daughter arrived home in the 4600 block of Green Meadows.  When the mother looked out her bedroom window, she observed a subject walking across her front lawn and up the driveway toward her bedroom window.  The subject stood in front of the window and peered inside before the mother yelled at him to go away.  He slowly walked away westbound and out of sight.

The subject is described as 35-40 years old, 6’00”/190lbs, athletic build, buzzed or shaved head, light complexion, round face, short beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants with NAVY (unknown if U.S. Navy or Old Navy) printed vertically along the outside of the right pant leg.
