Proposed Water Conservation Ordinance

The Torrance City Council will be considering a Water Conservation Ordinance at the March 24th council meeting. Some of the restrictions include the following:

Permanent Water Conservation Requirements

Limits on Watering Hours

Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, etc. is prohibited between 10am and 4pm.

Landscape Irrigation System limited to no more than 15 minutes per day per station.

No Excessive Water Flow or Runoff.

No Washing down hard or paved surfaces, including but not limited to sidewalks, walkway, driveways, parking areas, etcl, except when necessary to alleviate safety or sanitary hazards.

Obligation to Fix Leaks, Breaks or Malfunctions

Limits on Washing Vehicles

Drinking Water Served Upon Request Only

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
