Torrance: TPD and TFD have responded to the 1700 block of Cabrillo Ave (between Carson Street and W 218th St) due to police activity. Several people reported hearing gunshots and there is a significant amount of blood in the street, in front of the Plaza hotel (1720 Cabrillo Ave). At least one witness said that a male was lying face down in the street. Also hearing reports that TPD had one male and female were seen in handcuffs. TORRANCE — A man was shot to death in Torrance, authorities said Monday.
The shooting was reported about 10:15 p.m. Sunday on Cabrillo Avenue just south of Carson Street, according to the Torrance police watch commander.
Paramedics took the man to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where he died, according to coroner’s investigator Kelsie Weber.
No further details were immediately available about the shooting.
