42 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during the period.
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 4 in Torrance.
3 in North Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
 
Thursday, Sept 3rd 6 PM to Friday, Sept 4th, 10 AM.  2000 Block 238th Street
Stroller taken from open garage.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 7 in Torrance and 2 in Southeast Torrance.
 
Wed, Sept 2nd 6:30 PM to Thur, Sept 3rd, 6:30 AM     2200 Block 231st Street
Suspect entered unlocked vehicle and took purse.
 
Sat, Sept 5th, 3 PM to Sun, Sept 6th, 10 AM                 2100 Block 236th Street
Vehicle entered by unknown means and wallet was stolen.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 6 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT/SCAMS
There were 11 incidents reported in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
During the afternoon, on Sunday, August 30th, a suspect posed as a car salesman
at Carmax and took money for a down payment and fled the scene!
 
INCIDENT AT EXXONMOBIL REFINERY
On Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 0235hours, Torrance Fire Department Engine 93 responded to the ExxonMobil Refinery in Torrance for
a report of a modified hydrofluoric acid leak.  The small leak was detected at a rate of 10 drops per minute. 
ExxonMobil created the Community Advisory Panel to “develop and maintain effective communications with the
Torrance community.”  To date, the ExxonMobil website does not have any information about the incident.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
