  1,350      9%     Good Intent Calls
  1,100      7%     Service Calls

During 2018, the Torrance Fire Department responded to 15,055 emergencies, or 2.7% less than in 2017 (15,473).

Response time for the 1st unit on scene of a code 3 was 7:49.  See Page 9 of the attachment for additional details.

2 new engines were placed into service, Engine 92 and Engine 95 and 2 refurbished rescues were placed into service,
Rescue 95 and Rescue 96.  2 additional rescues are currently being refurbished/built.

                                                              Significant Finding
The areas creating response time challenges continue to be along the borders of the city, particularly the eastern border.
The other significant challenge is the northwestern quadrant in Zone 92, which includes Nadine Circle (New Horizons).
As a reminder, the apparatus housed in a planning zone do not always respond to all quadrants in a planning zone.  For example, Nadine Circle is on the northern border of Planning Zone 92 but is typically responded to by Station 1 units.
