RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 2 in Torrance in the Country Hills residential area.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 7 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.  2 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles for entry.
 
3/6/19 6 PM to 3/7/19 7:30 AM  2000 Block 235th Street
Suspect gained access to victim’s truck bed toolbox and took property/tools.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 2 stolen vehicles in Torrance.  1 in North Torrance and 1 in the Riviera area.
 
THEFT
There were 6 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.

Community Development – Consider Appeal of Planning Commission Denial of a Conditional Use Permit to Allow a New 28-Suite Hotel on Property Located in the C-3 Zone at 2320 Sepulveda Boulevard. This Project is Categorically Exempt from CEQA per Guidelines Section 15332 – In-Fill Development. CUP18-00010: SAM PATEL (PATEL SURESH BHAI) Expenditure: None.
 
Recommendation of the Planning Commission that City Council deny the appeal and adopt a RESOLUTION denying without prejudice a Conditional Use Permit to allow a new 28-suite hotel on property located in the C-3 Zone. –OR– Recommendation of the Community Development Director that City Council uphold the appeal and adopt a RESOLUTION approving a Conditional Use Permit to allow a new 28-suite hotel on property located in the C-3 Zone.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
