2 arrested on suspicion of Torrance home burglary
Two male suspects were arrested on suspicion of residential
burglary in Torrance Friday, July 27, authorities said.
Just after 3:30 p.m., Torrance police officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 17300 block of Atkinson Avenue. It was also reported two male suspects were jumping fences, according to Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris.
Officers arrived and saw two suspects fleeing. One of the suspects was immediately caught, but the second suspect briefly eluded officers, Harris said.
About 45 minutes later, police found the second suspect and
took him into custody after a containment was established. A Los Angeles County
Sheriff’s Department helicopter and the Torrance Police Department’s Drone Team
and residents helped patrol officers, Harris said.
“Community members did a really good job working with our officers and directing them as to where (the suspects) were last seen,” Harris said.
Further information about the suspects and what was taken from the residence were not immediately available.
