MADRONA MARSH ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK?Earlier this year, the City of Torrance kicked the can down the road on reducing funding for the Madrona Marsha.  Guess what?  The can stopped in the middle of the road and the City of Torrance Community Development and Enrichment Committee will again consider reducing funding for the Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve.  A reduction in funding would impact or eliminate many of the populat programs and could even result in partial closure of the Preserve and Nature Center.

A public meeting will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 4PM in the Torrance City Council Chambers at 3031 Torrance Blvd.  If you enjoy the Marsh and believe this is a great community resource, please wear a green shirt/blouse to the meeting to show support.  If you can't attend the meeting, send an email to the Mayor and council members or give them a phone call.
