Torrance Police Department Press Release dated July 2, 2020
Kidnapping/ Attempted Murder Arrests” On May
28, 2020, at approximately 7:00 PM, Torrance Police Officers responded to the
2500 block of 166th Place regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located
a 27-year-old male adult suffering from gunshot wounds. The Torrance Fire
Department treated the victim at the scene and later transported him to a local
hospital. During the investigation, officers learned the victim was kidnapped
from the City of Carson over missing property and taken to a Torrance residence
in the 2600 block of 166th Place. While at the residence, an altercation
occurred, and the victim sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was able to escape
from the suspects during the altercation and ran down the street where officers
located him. Officers checked the involved residence, but the suspects were gone
before officers arrived. Investigators learned the victim and the suspects were
known to each other, and there was no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives
conducted an in-depth investigation, extensive follow-up, and were able to
identify the involved suspects. Torrance Police Detectives and SWAT officers
later located and arrested Omar Jaramillo, a 34-year-old of Carson, Huy Huynh, a
39-year-old of Torrance, Mark Alvarado, a 30-year-old of Long Beach, and Sabrina
Lunalong, a 28-year-old of Carson. There is no evidence indicating there were
additional suspects involved.
