Weekly Crime Report for 12/15/ to 12/21 19 and Wendy's is Open in Southeast Torrance


 This report is for Sunday, December 15, 2019 through Saturday, December 21, 2019.
46 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at:
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 in North Torrance, 1 in Torrance Heights and 1 in West Torrance.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
3 vehicles were unlocked, 1 had a window smashed for entry and
3 were entered by unknown means.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 7 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
4 vehicles were stolen on December 16th o/a 10:20 PM to 10:30 PM in
the 20400 block of Hawthorne Blvd.  A 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 Hyundai
were stolen and there was damage at the dealership to a gate,
mechanic’s machine and a vehicle. 
 
THEFT
There were 18 incidents in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
5 parcels were stolen and 6 catalytic converters were removed from vehicles.
 
12/18/2019 7 PM  2300 Block 236th Place  License plate removed from vehicle.
 
2 delivered parcels were stolen in North Torrance and 1 each in Southwood,
Southwood -Sunray and Southwood.
 
6 catalytic converters were stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
4 in North Torrance and 2 in Old Torrance.
 
WENDY’S
The new Wendy’s at 2404 Sepulveda Blvd at Pennsylvania in Southeast Torrance
is now open.  It is a fast-casual format that combines the concepts of full-service
and drive-thru fast food. It is the site of the former El Paso Cantina restaurant.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
