RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 4 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 in North Torrance, 1 in West Torrance and 1 in Old Torrance.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 15 in Torrance with 8 in North Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
7 vehicles were unlocked, 3 vehicles had windows smashed and unknown means of entry
in 5 vehicles.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 9 stolen vehicles in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
 
Monday, December 2nd 7:18 AM  22800 Block Arlington Av  Attempt to steal a 2008 Winnebago Vista.
 
THEFT
There were 19 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
Catalytic converters were removed from 4 vehicles in the 20500 Block of Western Avenue.
There were 5 incidents of porch piracy.

MARCH 3, 2020 ELECTIONS IN TORRANCE
The filing period for the election has closed.  Southeast Torrance is in the new District 4 and the two
candidates are Sue Herbers, Southeast Torrance resident and former City Clerk and Sharon Kalani, a
Southeast Torrance resident.  Councilman Milton Herring, a Southeast Torrance resident, is not running for re-election.
 
In District 2 in West Torrance, Councilman George Chen and Councilman Geoff Rizzo will be vying for the new seat.  In District 6, Councilman Mike Griffiths will be opposed by Andrew DeBlock.
 
There will be four measures on the ballot for all Torrance voters.  One is the blocking sales tax measure and there are also three amendments to the city charter.  One to give the council 60 days to appoint a new council member if the need should arise.  One to change the city clerk from an elected position to an appointed position and one to change the city treasurer from an elected position to an appointed position.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling.
