RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 5 in Torrance.  2 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance, 1 in the Delthorne
Park area and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
10/30 8 am to 7 pm              23000 Block Arlington Ave   Suspect entered by unknown means
and took jewelry, food and beauty products.
 
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
There were 2 in Torrance and both were in Southeast Torrance.
10/28 to 10/30                     23300 Block Arlington Ave.  Camping gear taken out of parking garage.
10/29  2:15 pm to 3:15 PM  23300 Block Arlington Ave.  Vacuum taken out of parking garage.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 17 in Torrance and 3 in Southeast Torrance. Windows were smashed in 7 vehicles
for entry and 2 vehicles were unlocked.
 
10/28 11:30 pm to 10/29 12:30 pm  2400 Block 227th Street  Windows were smashed in 2 vehicles
and a laptop, keypad, wallet, and headphones were stolen.
10/31 5pm to 11/1  8am  2400 Block 235th St  Vehicle entered by unknown means, ransacked with
seat covers and floor mats stolen.
 
AUTO THEFT
5 vehicles were stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 5 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.  No reported porch piracy incidents
4 catalytic converters were stolen in Torrance in the 1300 Block of Kornblum Av, 2 in the 3100 Block of
Merrill Dr and 1 on Del Amo Blvd at Mariner.
 
VANDALISM
6 reported incidents in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance.
10/27 4:30 pm to 10/28 9 am  1800 Reynosa Drive.  Pellet gun used to damage residential window.
 
A pellet gun was used to damaged business windows on the weekend of November 1st in the 500 Block
of Madrid Av, 2300 Block of Dominguez Way, 1100 Block of Crenshaw Blvd.
 
PLANNING COMMISSION
On Wednesday, November 6th, the Torrance Planning Commission approved Raising Caine’s, a drive-in
restaurant, at 230th and Hawthorne Blvd.  It is currently the site of Pier 1 Imports.  Raising Caine’s features
chicken fingers, crinkle fries, Texas toast and coleslaw.  More information at http://www.raisingcanes.com

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR REFUSE & RECYCLING COLLECTION
Veterans Day is Monday, November 11, 2019 which means the trash collection day will be on Friday,
November 15th in Southeast Torrance.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
