RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 2 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
9 14 2019  21400 Block Grant Ave Southwood area.
Suspect removed window screen and was in the process of climbing through
an open window and realized the victim was in the residence.  No property loss.
 
9 12 2019  24400 Block Ward St  Walteria area.
Window smashed for entry and watch taken.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 12 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 vehicle was unlocked and windows were smashed in 6 vehicles.
Items stolen included ID, credit cards, toolbox, tablet, backpack, wallet, calculators,
notebooks, construction tools, another backpack and another wallet, bag, cash, another
wallet, speaker, book bag, vehicle battery, bag, laptop, book and a purse.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 4 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 5 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
No reports of porch piracy.
 
PLANNING COMMISSION ITEM IN SOUTHEAST TORRANCE
An application has been submitted to convert an existing 3 bedroom, 1 bath,
924 square foot  residence to an office use at 2481 236th Place
which is on the northeast corner of 236th Place and Crenshaw Blvd.
The item will be heard at the October 2, 2019 Planning Commission meeting.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
