Fire Destroys Chase Bank in Torrance After Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into Building. Information from T P D - Northbound Hawthorne Blvd. remains closed from Carson St. to Del Amo Circle and westbound lanes on Carson St. remains closed from Del Amo Circle to Hawthorne Blvd. following a traffic accident earlier this morning. Duration is approximately 6 to 8 hours. Please avoid the area.      Item 8B on the agenda for the Torrance City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 27th at 7:00 pm is to replace the playground equipment and exercise area equipment at Sur La Brea Park in Southeast Torrance.
