Gardena and Torrance Police Arrest 2 Robbery Suspects at the Del Amo Mall

  On Friday, July 27th, at approximately 1:24 PM,  two suspects pointed a gun at a Gardena woman in the Gardena Target parking lot at Redondo Beach Blvd and Van Ness Avenue.  They robbed the lady of her purse.   Gardena Police arrived and were able to track the two suspects to the Del Amo Mall in Torrance. With the assistance of Torrance Police, Gardena detectives were able to locate and arrest both suspects within about an hour.   The suspects were still armed when officers located them and still in possession of the victim’s property.   Later in the afternoon, Torrance Police also assisted Gardena Police in apprehending a suspect in a stolen car who drove into Torrance.   John Bailey, President Southeast Torrance Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Just after 3:30 p.m., Torrance police officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 17300 block of Atkinson Avenue. It was also reported two male suspects were jumping fences, according to Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris. Officers arrived and saw two suspects fleeing.
